Who Can Apply in PMA Pakistan Military Academy Long and Short Course?

Regardless of religion, caste, creed, or region, recruitment is available to all eligible Pakistanis. The applicant must be a male citizen of Pakistan or Azad Kashmir and a state class-1 citizen. 1-Eligibility for PMA Course 

Detail about Age :

Age as on 1 May 1 each year in November

2- Education for PMA Long and Short Course

A minimum of 55% in FA/FSc or an equivalent subject.

Marks Relaxation for PMA Selection: 

FA/FSc 55% for candidates having domicile in the designated areas.Included in 

  1. Balochistan, 
  2. FATA,
  3. District of Gil Got-Baltistan 
  4. Neelum Kohistan, 
  5. Chitral, 
  6. District Mansehra of KPK Tharparkar, 
  7. Tehsil Balakot (Kaghan, Naran), and Tehsil Umerkot of Sindh are among the districts in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
  8. Punjab's District:  RajanPur, Cholistan Desert Area, Drawer Fort, Salamsar, Mojgarh, and Dingarh are among those where students have actually been enrolled..nrolled..

Single (Serving personnel of the Armed forces over 20 years of age are eligible, even if married)

Detail about PMA Training

Training for 2 years at the PMA Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul, Abbottabad, KPK, Pakistan.

Graduate Candidate and PMA 

Candidates having minimum 50% marks in intermediate but having 60% marks and above (in and BS/BA(Hon)/BBA,BPA ) are eligible.

Required Serving Army Soldiers

  • 50% marks in FA/Fsc and Equivalent.
  • Hope Certificate for PMA Long Course
  • Candidate who have passed part-1 intermediate examination and having minimum 55% marks.

Appeared or Appearing in supplementary of part-2 final examination.

Whose result will be announce can apply subject to provision of original part-1 mark sheet along with Hope Certificate. This certificate must be issued by the head of college/university which states that they have good chance of passing the final exams with minimum 60% marks. Candidate will deposit their original Part-2 certificate or mark sheet along with 4 attested copies. Hope Certificate will be submitted to GHQ PA Directorate PA-3(a). 

Documents should be submitted in required time to continue the selection Process.Candidates who not have a matric certificate or who possess duplicate updated mark sheets for the matric, intermediate, and BS/BA(Hon)/BBA, BPA exams. A verification certificate must be obtained and must be signed by the secretary controller of the concerned Board or University.

Physical Standards in PMA 

  • At least 5 feet 4 inches (162.5 cm) in height.
  • Visual Guidelines
  • according to body mass index (BMI)
  • Visual Guidelines
  • Vision at a Distance - With Glasses 6/9 , 6/12
  • J2, J7, N8, or N12 near vision, with or without glasses.
  • At the time of preliminary selection, candidates must meet the following physical requirements.
  • Run for 1.6 km in 7.5 minutes (We suggest practise for 2 KM)
  • Push Ups: Perform 15 repeats in 2 minutes.
  • 15 sit-ups performed in 2 minutes.
  • Three chin-ups in two minutes.
  • Ditch Crossing: 7.4′′ x 7.4′′, 4 feet deep

3- PMA Registration & Preliminary Selections

Candidates have two options for registering: online or in person at Army Selection and Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs). The following process will be used.

1-Online Registration 

Candidates can simply register on the website. The applicant must have an email account in order to receive the online notification of the test date and time. For the preliminary exam, candidates must report at the exact time and date specified on a computerized roll no slip. Once a date is given, it cannot be modified. On the day of the test, candidates will also bring the documents listed in Paragraph 6 and pay the prospectus fee. Candidates Having a basic knowledge of computers because both registration and exams will be conducted online.

2- PMA Registration at AS&RCs

Candidates may submit the required documentation listed in Paragraph 6 and the prospectus fee to the nearest AS&RC to register or receive their roll number, as well as to complete the registration process. These documents will also be brought by candidates on exam day.

4- PMA Written / Intelligence Test

Written/ intelligence test will be based on multiple choice questions of

  • Intelligence Test 

Verbal and Nonverbal test 

Acdamic Test 

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Pakistan Studies
  • Islamic Studies
  • General Knowledge.

PMA Schedule of Registration and Test

  • The following timetable will be followed, but the dates are subject to change.
  • Typically, registration begins in April/May and October/November.
  • Test dates are in June and through December.

Required Documents at AS&RCs

At the time of registration, the following certificate and one set of photocopies are required.

  1. Matriculation certification and Matriculation marks sheet (Both Compulsory). It is required to submit an equivalent certificate issued by IBCC for O level or A level coursework.
  2. FA/Fsc/Equivalent certificate or complete marks sheet.
  3. 18 years of age & above must have a National Identity Card (NIC).
  4. Form B and the NIC of the parent or guardian, if the child is under 18 years old.
  5. Six coloured pictures with proper front and back attestation from the principal class 1 Gazetted officer
  6. One set of certified photocopies of the documents indicated above.
  7. Old Forms B and NIC will not be accepted.
  8. Three photocopies of the NOT RECOMMENDED letter are needed for Repeater Candidates.

5- PMA Preliminary Selection

Initial selection mean the candidates who have been declared successful in the written and intelligence examinations will go through basic medical and physical exams. However, repeating candidates won't have to take the written or IQ examinations; only the medical and physical exams will be required.

Candidates who pass the initial selection process will be sent to the ISSB for additional testing. Candidates recommended by the ISSB will receive medical examinations at local CMHs. At GHQ, the final decision will be made based on the candidate's overall performance.

  • Twice, ISSB has not recommended
  • medical board of appeals declares you to be medically unfit (Army)
  • Cadets and recruits enrolled in the military who have resigned, quit, been discharged, or been dismissed ( Army, Air Force and Navy) Training academies on the basis of conduct, morals, health, inefficiency, a lacklustre resume, or as declared unfit.
  • a person who has been let go or removed from any other government programmes.
  • Having been found guilty in a court of law of a crime involving corruption of any kind.

6- Pakistani National Living in Foreign

Candidates who hold two nationalities must give up their second citizenship after being selected for final consideration.
